Jackie McGehee 2020 Young Artist Winners are playing with the New Mexico Philharmonic!

Gabriel Ingliss piano
Lorenzo Gallegos violin

Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 1 in C Major, Op. 15, I. Allegro con brio
Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35, I. Allegro moderato
Mendelssohn Symphony No. 5, “Reformation”

Two of our most talented young musicians bring their best to two stellar compositions. The first movement of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1, written when he was only 28, is filled with memorable melodies the world has loved for centuries. And, Tchaikovsky at his lyrical best in the first movement of his seminal Violin Concerto in D. Finally, the NMPhil plays Mendelssohn’s cathartic Fifth Symphony, “Reformation,” filled with memorable motifs that have stood the test of time.
