For the love of music, the Music Guild of New Mexico supports, promotes, and encourages nonprofit musical organizations that will educate, enhance, engage, and enrich the quality of our New Mexico community, especially its youth.

Education Programs

Aaron Copland, one of America's greatest composers, called music an art that is one of the glories of humankind.

The Music Guild is dedicated to the love of music and uses education to enhance, engage, and enrich the quality of life in our community.

The Guild's education activities include:

  • Assisting elementary students to attend New Mexico Philharmonic Youth Concerts
  • Conducting instrument "Petting Zoos" that encourage attendees to try their hand at varied instruments in a fun and friendly setting
  • Organizing our signature event, the Jackie McGehee Young Artists' Competition for Piano and Strings, which brings together world class musicians to judge the state's best classical piano and string students in a competition of the highest level

Along with these various activities, musical events are organized through the year. These allow a broad exposure to the infinite expressions that come from music.
