The Jurors for the 2025 Jackie McGehee Young Artists’ Competition are out-of-state experts in Piano and String performances.
Piano Jurors
Jurors for the strings section include Pasha Sabouri, Eric Edberg and Jonathon Meorschal. They will judge 13 contestants.
Pasha Sabouri
Dr. Sabouri is a performer, educator and Founder/Artistic Director of the Texas Strings Festival; its affiliate Master Series, a year-round educational initiative; plus, the Teachers’ Lounge, an online teachers’ collective.
Jonathon Moerschel
Dr. Moerschel is a Lecturer of Viola and Chamber Music at the University of California Santa Barbara. He has collaborated with eminent musicians and is a very active studio session player in Los Angeles.
Eric Edberg
Dr. Edberg is a critically acclaimed cellist, concert organizer, workshop leader, and drum circle facilitator, who connects and enlivens people through music.
Strings Jurors
Jurors for the strings section include Cathal Breslin, Antoinette Perry and Adam Clark. They will judge 12 contestants.
Cathal Breslin
Dr. Breslin is an Assistant Professor of Piano at Arizona State University School of Music in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts.
Antoinette Perry
Ms. Perry served on the UCLA piano faculty for 12 years before joining the faculty of the USC Thornton School of Music in 1996, where she currently teaches.
Adam Clark
Dr. Clark served as Professor of Music at Hope College before joining the faculty at Middle Tennessee State University as Professor of Piano, where he currently teaches. He studied at the University of Cincinnati, the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of California, Santa Barbara.
